FULFILLMENT
- 10,000 BCE ago during the period following the Ice Age.
- 500 CE when the primordial waters had receded.
- 2000 CE, today.
- 3000 CE conjectured as a period which the Elders see and
- 5000 CE when the Mother Earth has cleansing herself once.
Each model will be in a setting with corresponding large scale photographic imagery
evoking the pictures of the inhabitations which represent the conjectured time period.
In addition, great screens of imagistic text will "float" among the models and images
explaining and invoking the knowledge which informs them. These models will be placed
in the central lodge [see sketch Site Plan], a circular space constructed in the
indigenous way like a great inverted basket woven into the upward reaches of an
isolated poplar tree. This circular structure will be designed to replicate the standing
bent log constructions of the ancestors - bound in strips of bark and deer sinew, and
clad in elm or basswood bark and moss and sealed with pine sap, desgined like an
inverted great woven basket, a sacred vessel.
Embracing the central lodge will be two modern Longhouses, designed in the respectful
way of dominant culture - the organic expression inspired by the work of Frank Lloyd
Wright.
