FULFILLMENT
In the great cycles of return, understood so profoundly in native lifeways,
Toron:to-Ontar:io-Cana:da has been, and continues to be, unconsciously and
subtly, reinvigorated and re-contextualized in the spirit of the Ancestors,
in "duty" to Creation at this time.
The psycho-spiritual-cultural event
and exhibition series Toronto: A Beacon to the Ancestors will attempt to
demonstrate the deep meaning conveyed in the modern development of the city
of Toronto through the use of traditional aboriginal ceremonial events and
speeches [re-contextualized for our present needs], utilizing multiple media
and rich, cultural diverse participation in an architectural emplacement
along a brief stretch of the original shoreline of Ontar:io.
This is "history"
redefined on a grander and more inclusive scale where there is always a
"uncovering" process, turning and returning in grand cycles. In this we
can find healing, gratitude, hope, and vision.
The envisioned cultural-pscho-spiritual event and exhibition series will be
anchored at the site around five [5] detailed geographical /architectural
reconstructions of the Toronto landscape addressing Lake Ontar:io at seminal
periods in the fuller grandeur of its life cycle. The models will be highly
detailed about 60 inches square, and suspended over a reconstructed sky field
above, and an earth energy field below. They will be representations of the
